Potentiostats/galvanostats

In our laboratories, we have four potentiostats/galvanostats that allows performing a wide range of electrochemical research, such as:

  • Cyclic Voltammetry (CV)
  • Linear Sweep Voltammetry (LSV)
  • Chronoamperometry (ChA)
  • Chronopotentiometry (ChP)
  • Differential Pulse Voltammetry (DPV)
  • Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS)
  • Square Wave Voltammetry (SWV)

Two Bio-Logic SP-300 potentiostats

Two Autolab PSTAT 204 potentiostats, including one equipped with rotating disc electrode (RRDE)

Princeton Applied Research EG&G 273A

By using those potentiostats, there is a possibility to electrosynthesize different metallic, polymer and semiconductive materials. Moreover, we are doing research conntected with corrosion tests, complex electrochemical characterization of energy storage setups, examining of electrochemical sensors, bioelectrochemical systems, and with kinetics of electrode processes.

UV/VIS/NIR Spectrophotometer Perkin Elmer Lambda 750 S

Contact angle measuring system DataPhysics OCA25

OCA25 goniometer allows for the measurements and analisys of both static and dynamic contact angle, according to the static sessile drop method. It also allows for the measurements of contact angle and surface free energy by using dynamic sessile drop method. The OCA25 model is equipped with three automatic liquid dispensers, tilting base unit and a holder for special samples (e.g., foils, membranes).

Contact angle: 0-180° with precision ±0.1°
Surface free energy: 0.01 – 2000 mN/m with precision 0.01 mN/m

The modular DMi8 inverted fluorescence microscope

Inverted, coded microscope may be used for both transmitted light and fluorescence light observations.

For transmitted light observations, LED light with TTL aperture is used.

For fluorescence observations, the halogen lamp (120 W) is used.

The microscope is equipped with a manual 3-plate stage with different inserts, objectives with 10x, 20x, and 40x magnification, 6-fold filter turret with filters for DAPI, FITC, and RHODO.

The DMi8 fluorescence microscope may be applied for both transparent (on a glass slide or multiwell plates) and non-transparent substrates (latter only for fluorescence observations).

By using a dedicated Leica Application Suite (LAS) X software platform, the accurate analysis of the obtained image data is possible, e.g., stocking of images from different channels, precise analysis of the images.

Non-contact sheet resistance and layer thickness measurement device Suragus, EddyCus® TF lab 2020

The equipment allows for single point, non-contact measurements of conductive thin films and layer thickness measurements. There is a possibility to measure resistance of samples with the area form 100 mm2 to 40 000 mm2 in the range between 0,001 and 3,000 Ω cm-2. It is sutable for measurements of cunductivity on semiconductive wafers, glass with a thin conductive layers, electrodes in batteries etc.

Photoelectric spectrometer (Instytut Fotonowy)

Photoelectric spectrometer is suitable for characterization of photoelectrochemical materials (wide band gap semiconductors). It has module system that contains: digital controlled light source (xenon lamp 150 W, monochromator, proper light edge filters, shutter, setup for stabilization of light intensity), potentiostat (P-IF 1.6) and computer. Spectrometer is fully automated. Control panel allows to control the wavelength of the emiited light, shutter opening and closing time, inset of light edge filters and synchronization with potentiostat. Dedicated software allows for obtaining complete photoelectrochemical characterization of the tested samples due to the measurements of the generated photocurrents as a function of wavelength. The results are shown as 3D photoactivity maps. Additionally, the software allows for determining the banggap and calculating the Incident of Photon to Current Eficciency (IPCE). Measurements may be performed either in constant or pulse model.

Detaild infromation on the Photoelectric spectrometer may be found HERE.
